About Couples Counseling

Couples counseling is a type of psychotherapy in which a therapist helps two people involved in aromantic relationship gain insight, resolve conflict and improve relationship satisfaction. You’re inviting a collaborator – a couples therapist – into the life of your relationship to help you and your partner grow. When thinking about your relationship’s early years, you remember the person you fell in love with. You may not understand how you reached this point and how to regain your support and connection. Uncertainty can build over time, leaving you searching for the best solution. When everyone’s committed to doing the work there’s room for tremendous growth.

Benefits of Couples Counseling

At Help To Adjust Counseling we often observe that couples counseling helps people to clarify their own intentions about their relationship. As with all counseling modalities, those clients who are open to learning and change and are the least defensive are able to effectuate the best results. Each couple develops a way of interaction that is as unique as the individuals within the couple. Our counselors will help you to learn your patterns and to stop harmful communication and behaviors. This can help to restore healthy and vigorous relationships.

Invitation to Brave Space
By Micky ScottBey Jones

“Together we will create brave space

Because there is no such thing as a “safe space”

We exist in the real world

We all carry scars and we have all caused wounds.

In this space

We seek to turn down the volume of the outside world.

We amplify voices that light to be heard elsewhere.

We amplify voices that fight to be heard elsewhere.

We call each other to more truth and love

We have the right to start somewhere and continue to grow.

We have the responsibility to examine what we think we know.

We will not be perfect.

This space will not be perfect.

It will not always be what we wish it to be

but

It will be our brave space together

and

We will work on it side by side.
